SPHERE
GRAPE, PLANET, UFO, CHAMPAIGN BUBBLE OR...
In the ‘SPHERE’ series, I have reduced my passion for wine and viticulture to its essence : the grape and the round shape of the grape itself. This allows me to give people space to invent their own story or live their own dream when they look at this series.
For myself, I start each creation with the idea of painting a grape in close up, at the same time letting my childlike imagination run wild....
As a child, I could look at the stars for hours, I was fascinated by planets, space travel, devoured books on UFOs.
Fun in my childhood was always linked to a ball: balloon, football, tennis ball, ping-pong ball, snooker ball, petanque ball.
During my many wine trips, I often took photos and close-ups of bunches of grapes, grapes on the ground and grapes during the wine-making process, in wooden containers and stainless steel vats, before and after pressing.
This is why the round shape is the nicest shape on earth that always makes you smile.
